In order to improve the processes involved in manufacturing electrical harnesses, Southern Prospect engaged the services of Productivity Improvers. Southern Prospect employees with the assistance of Productivity Improvers, implemented a Production System (Integrated Team Approach) using Lean tools. The outcomes of this project were improvements in people, quality, velocity and cost.

UPDATES FROM GEMCO (Engenco The Good Oil October 2013 Issue No 9)

In the month of October, Dynon has been the centre of attention with the commencement of a 3 stage upgrade with Phase 1 taking place.

Improvements to date have included removal of unused parts and equipment, track repairs and maintenance with line marking and asphalt laid, a full length pit cover, cleaning and painting of all walls, first of 100m handrails were also fitted.

We would like to extend our thanks to Clynton Jaffray from Productivity Improvers and Adam Elphinstone from the Elphinstone Group who lead the project.



One of Gemco Rail’s key initiatives is to implement lean methodology to standardize all Work Practices. To that end our Forrestfield operation has undertaken a Rapid Improvement Workshop to move towards World’s Best Work Practices, beginning with the Wheel Shop’s assembly bay.
